Armila is one of the oldest companies distributing pharmaceutical products in the Lithuanian market. Our experience and exclusive attention to the quality of our service have helped us to become the leader in our business. We provide the best quality services, approved by the ISO9000 quality system and strictly comply with the requirements of GDP. At present we collaborate with 200* manufacturers, 1,300* pharmacies and 100* hospitals.
Since 2008, the company has been a member of the leading German pharmaceutical wholesale company Alliance Healthcare Deutschland. Armila benefits from over  hundred year’s experience gained by its parent company. We believe that the pharmacies, the hospitals, and all other Armila partners that we collaborate with, benefit from this experience every day.
The team:

There are 148* employees in Armila at present. 30* members of our staff have been working here since the foundation of the company. 40%* of our employees have been working with us for more than ten years. The professionalism of our workers is Armila’s most valuable asset. Short history:

1992 – Private company Armila was founded in Vilnius. Its main activity was the distribution of pharmaceuticals to the Baltic and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries.

1993 – Armila opened the first regional center of distribution in Vilnius, a warehouse in Kaunas, and distribution centers in Šiauliai and Klaipėda.

1997 – Private company becomes incorporated to become a private limited company (Ltd))

1998 – The establishment of veterinary medicine wholesale department.

1999 – Armila Ltd. acquires the wholesale company SIA Farmaljans in Latvia and Armila Eesti OU in Estonia. The subsidiary in Estonia was the fourth largest wholesale pharmaceutical company in the country.

1999 – Strengthening their internal distribution network, Armila acquires a central warehouse in Vilnius.

2000 – Armila becomes the first manufacturing & service company in Lithuania to gain the International ISO 9002 quality certificate. Previously this certificate had been awarded to manufacturing companies that operated at the highest standards of quality assurance in production.

2002 – Armila was granted with GDP (Good Distribution Practice) certificate. (EU 83 directive). 

2004 – Armila disposes of Estonian and Latvian subsidiaries and focuses on the Lithuanian pharmaceutical market consolidation.

2004–2005 – Armila acquires five private pharmacies.

2006 – A chain of pharmacies – “100 metų vaistinių tinklas” (“100 years of pharmacy”) uniting all the independent pharmacies of Lithuania is developed. The first online pharmacy in Lithuania (www.100metu.lt) is also set up. The main benefits of this online service are reduced costs, time saving and complete discretion for the customer.  It has become an excellent vehicle for marketing, providing information and contact with customers and has provided additional value to the retailers that signed up to the chain of pharmacies.

2007 – The magazine “Naujoji Komunikacija” (“New Communication”) awarded the page www.100metu.lt as the best e-commerce project of 2007.

2008 – September 1st Alliance Healthcare Deutschland, previously known as Andreae-Noris Zahn (ANZAG), one of the leading German wholesale pharmaceutical products companies, acquires a 92% stake of Armila. Maintaining their fast growth strategy, and by forming mutually beneficial cooperation with their customers and excellent convergence of the market, Armila has been endowed with the capacity of Alliance Healthcare Deutschland.
2010 - Acquisition of pharmacy chain  - “Ramunėlės vaistinė” 
2010 - Alliance Healthcare Deutschland became a subsidiary of Alliance Boots
2011 - 27 own pharmacies merged into one legal entity „Ramunėlės vaistinė“ UAB
2012Walgreens and Alliance Boots form strategic partnership to create the first global pharmacy-led, health and wellbeing enterprise. 
2013 - Alliance Boots group acquiring 100 % ownership of ANZAG
 2014 - December Walgreens Boots Alliance was created through the combination of Walgreens and Alliance Boots.
